I never thought I would join a gym and start fitness classes at the age of 70! However, that is exactly what happened last year as I joined the CrossFit Deer Park seniors class in March 2021. When I began coming to the gym, I had knee issues (wore knee braces frequently) and lower back issues. After a few months, the knee issues diminished (I don't wear knee braces anymore) and my lower back is stronger. To walk a mile 10 months ago took me 45 minutes and now I can walk it in 25 minutes. Through a combination of more nutritional eating and increased physical activity, I have lost about 50 lbs. I am in a much better place now, both physically and mentally. I give a lot of credit to the coaches and class members who are encouraging and supportive. The atmosphere at the gym is welcoming and family-like. It is a great place to just go and MOVE!

CrossFit is a lifestyle characterized by safe, effective exercise and sound nutrition. CrossFit can be used to accomplish any goal, from improved health to weight loss to better performance. The program works for everyone, all ages at any level.
No! CrossFit is designed for individuals of any physical activity background, whether you’re a former college athlete or someone that has never had a regular workout routine and simply wants to shed a few pounds.
CrossFit workouts consist of four main elements: a warm-up, the WOD (workout of the day), skill-strength training and a cool-down.
Don’t worry about it. We provide modifications for all our workouts to allow both beginners and experienced athletes to train together. We can always find an alternative exercise for you that will help you achieve the same results. If you have limitations due to an injury (recent or old) we can find the proper modifications so you can receive a great workout too.
Depending on your health and fitness goals, we recommend taking a CrossFit class anywhere between two and five times a week.
Our CrossFit classes are 1 hour and the workouts are typically 10-20 minutes of that time.
